Your Top Questions, Answered: Our Webinar with MSc Małgorzata Kotwica

What we learned about our treatment protocols, the three new products that complete our range, and the questions salon professionals ask us most

On 24 September we hosted a live webinar for beauty professionals who use Beroe Sense in their salons. It was hosted by Joanna Śliwińska, our training and sales coordinator. Our guest was Małgorzata Kotwica, who co-created our formulas and treatment protocols. Małgorzata is a cosmetologist who ran her own salon for many years, and she is also a university lecturer. That means she knows the science and she knows how a salon actually runs.

We kept the format relaxed on purpose: a short walk through our protocols, then a long question-and-answer session. Professionals sent us 21 questions when they registered, and more came in live in the chat. Below are the main points from the session.

A complete range, built like a good menu

Małgorzata compared our range to a good restaurant menu. There are only a few dishes, but every one is excellent. With three new products added, we now consider the range complete: ten treatment cocktails plus three products that support every treatment, 13 products in total.

  • Micel Pur (micellar water). It prepares any skin type for any treatment. Its postbiotic ingredients clean even very sensitive skin gently, and a low concentration of lactic acid helps with problem skin. You don't have to rinse it off.
  • Lumina Veil (renewing toner). It uses PHAs to gently rebalance the skin's pH, and it is mild enough for frequent use. Correct pH helps the next products absorb. Use it only in treatments that don't break the skin.
  • Post Ritual (regenerating post-treatment mask). This mask can replace a sheet mask. It contains marula oil and a patented ingredient, TriSolve P, together with MARSturizer and Couperine, which help rebuild the skin barrier. Leave it on for 15 minutes, press in whatever is left, and don't rinse it off.

Four steps behind every protocol

Every Beroe Sense protocol follows the same four steps:

  1. Cleanse with Micel Pur.
  2. Prepare with either Lumina Veil or Glow & Peel Acid Cocktail. Never use both in one treatment. Choose Lumina Veil for sensitive or reactive skin, for clients new to acids and for maintenance visits. Choose Glow & Peel for mature skin, rough texture or dull skin, or when you want a visible result after one treatment.
  3. Treat with the protocol's cocktail and the technology it recommends.
  4. Close with Post Ritual, then SPF 50.

Nine signature protocols

Face

Protocol Main concerns Method Time
LumiLift Therapy (Deep Lifting Solution) Dull, tired skin, loss of firmness, fine lines Microneedle mesotherapy ~45 min
Derma Calm Therapy (Derma Calming Control) Rosacea, adult acne, very reactive skin Electroporation ~60 min
Glow Skin Therapy (Rejuvenation Cocktail) Congested or enlarged pores, dull skin Hydrogen cleansing ~65 min
Royal Aqua Therapy (Hydra Power Shot) Dry, tight, dehydrated skin Oxygen infusion ~55–60 min
Even Tone Therapy (Pigment Control Cocktail) Pigmentation, melasma, uneven tone Sonophoresis ~60 min
Neck & Décolletage Perfection Therapy (Neck & Décolletage Cocktail) Wrinkles and loss of firmness on the neck and décolletage Microneedle mesotherapy ~45 min

Body and scalp

  • Body Contour Therapy (Slim Shock Cocktail). Radiofrequency followed by sonophoresis, about 60 minutes. For cellulite, stubborn fat and loss of firmness.
  • Hair Revival Therapy (Hair Growth Stimulator). Microneedling, about 40 minutes. For thinning hair and hair loss.
  • Scalp Rescue Therapy (Scalp Rescue Cocktail). Darsonvalisation, about 35 minutes. For an oily, flaky or itchy scalp.

Małgorzata encouraged facial salons to offer the scalp treatments too. You don't need special equipment or a hair-washing station. For the microneedling protocol, just ask the client to come with freshly washed hair.

There are also two open treatments that work with any cocktail. One is microneedle mesotherapy (~45 min, half an ampoule, 0.25–0.5 mm). The other is hydrogen cleansing (~70 min), where half an ampoule is delivered with the H2Jet and then sonophoresis or RF. Most salons already have a hydrogen cleansing device, so these open treatments let you build your own services around our cocktails.

Małgorzata's main message was that the protocols give you direction, not rules. Every formula also works without needles. The methods listed are our experts' recommendations, and you can adapt each protocol to the techniques your salon uses. Experienced professionals should trust their own habits. Newer professionals can follow the protocols step by step with confidence. Ultrasound, oxygen infusion and even massage (for example, working the cocktail in under an alginate mask) all give great results.

The questions we get asked most

How long should Glow & Peel stay on the skin?
Leave it on for 3–5 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water. At pH 3 it doesn't need neutralising. Use half an ampoule (2.5 ml) and keep away from the eyes and mouth. On thinner or reactive skin, start with 3 minutes. If microneedling comes next, disinfect the skin after rinsing. Glow & Peel is one of the two options for step 2, not a required first step.

Is 10 days between microneedling sessions too short?
Yes. For protocols with microneedling, allow 2–4 weeks between sessions (a course of 4–6 treatments). In our approach the needle is only a delivery route and the cocktail does the work, so we needle shallowly. The skin still needs time to recover. The shorter 7–14 day spacing is for needle-free protocols such as Derma Calm and Royal Aqua. A needle-free treatment between microneedling sessions keeps the course going.

Do I apply the cocktail before or after needling?
Before. Apply half an ampoule to disinfected skin and needle through it: 0.25–0.5 mm for face, neck, décolletage and body, and 0.25–0.75 mm for the scalp. At the end, massage in any cocktail that's left. Our cocktails glide well without running off the skin, and the colour of Deep Lifting Solution shows you exactly where you've applied it.

Is one ampoule enough for two treatments?
For the face, yes, because half an ampoule (2.5 ml) is one treatment. Neck & Décolletage uses a full ampoule. In Royal Aqua, half an ampoule mixed with saline covers the face, neck and décolletage.

What can I offer a client who wants microneedling results without downtime?
A needle-free protocol, run as a longer course with shorter gaps: Derma Calm (electroporation), Royal Aqua (oxygen) or Even Tone (sonophoresis). Małgorzata calls needle-free mesotherapy one of the most underrated treatments available. Her one rule: never shorten the programmed time, because the device has to go through all four phases. Tell the client that results build up more slowly than with injectable treatments.

Which form of vitamin C is in Pigment Control Cocktail?
Ascorbyl glucoside, which is ascorbic acid bound to glucose. It is far more stable than pure vitamin C and gentler on sensitive skin. Enzymes in the skin release it gradually, and it works alongside azeloglicina and niacinamide.

Can Slim Shock be used on a double chin?
Slim Shock is designed for the body. For the jawline and neck, choose Neck & Décolletage Cocktail. Slim Shock does work well with carboxytherapy on the chin, which is one of Małgorzata's favourite treatments.

Can I use the cocktails around the eyes?
Only as far as the cheekbone, and never with acids. Don't put any cocktail on the eyelids or the lash line. Pat or massage it in without needles, and if you use a device, keep the settings and depth at their lowest.

Should I apply SPF over Post Ritual?
Yes. Every protocol ends that way: Post Ritual for 15 minutes, then a regenerating cream with SPF 50. After microneedling, the client shouldn't wash her face for 6–8 hours.

Can I use Post Ritual after strong acids, microneedling or laser?
After microneedling, yes. It closes every Beroe Sense microneedling protocol. After strong acids or laser, no. Never apply it to open wounds or to skin after an ablative treatment.

Can I combine the cocktails with IPL, BBL, lasers or HIFU?
Not in the same step. For IPL, BBL and HIFU, carry out the device treatment on clean skin with its own gel. Then follow with a soothing needle-free step, Post Ritual and SPF 50. Don't use Glow & Peel or microneedling on the same day. With lasers, plan them as separate visits. LumiLift treatments can alternate with laser or HIFU sessions as part of a treatment plan. Małgorzata pointed out that a varied plan also keeps clients coming back.

Doesn't radiofrequency "destroy" the active ingredients?
No. Glow Skin and Body Contour already combine them. Heat from salon RF is nowhere near what our actives can handle; our form of vitamin C, for example, stays stable up to 70°C. Use the devices one after another, never at the same time, and don't raise the energy just to get a stronger effect. With a concentrated cocktail, gentle settings are enough.

What works best for pigmentation?
Even Tone Therapy: Glow & Peel, then Pigment Control Cocktail delivered with sonophoresis, without breaking the skin barrier. Diagnose the type of pigmentation first. Post-inflammatory marks, which are common in people with allergies or acne, need you to avoid inflammation. Needling and heat can cause new pigmentation, so take particular care with melasma. You can use microneedling to deliver Pigment Control within the open treatment.

What's the best treatment before an event?
Royal Aqua Therapy: oxygen infusion with Hydra Power Shot, then a relaxing massage. There are no needles, so no downtime. For extra glow, choose Glow Skin Therapy. Book it a few days before the event and skip Glow & Peel close to the date.

A client wants a quick lift, but her skin barrier is damaged. What should I do?
Rebuild the barrier first and lift afterwards. Ask her to stop retinol and AHA toners at home. Phase 1 is Derma Calm with Lumina Veil only, every 7–14 days. Phase 2 is LumiLift every 2–4 weeks once the skin has calmed. Małgorzata compared it to running: you don't start with a marathon. Clients trust a professional who explains a plan, and in phase 1 they will quickly see less redness and more comfortable skin.

Can I combine microneedling, acids and Derma Calming Control in one treatment?
Yes, with our pH 3 acid. Cleanse with Micel Pur, apply Glow & Peel for 3–5 minutes, rinse and disinfect. Then microneedle through half an ampoule at 0.25–0.5 mm, and finish with Post Ritual and SPF 50. Derma Calming Control is best for reactive or inflamed skin. Choose Pigment Control for dark marks left by acne.

Can a perimenopausal client with rosacea and reactive skin have a lifting treatment?
Yes, once her skin has calmed. Start with Derma Calm and use Lumina Veil rather than Glow & Peel. Derma Calming Control contains our exosome complex and patented ingredients developed for rosacea-prone skin. Then move on to LumiLift every 2–4 weeks, or the needle-free Royal Aqua. Even Tone isn't suitable during active rosacea.

Tools that make the protocols easier to use

At the end, Joanna showed the tools on our website:

  • The full protocol list on the homepage, which you can sort and open.
  • The protocol creator. Choose the treatment area and your client's concerns and it suggests matching protocols. It helps when a client calls asking what you can offer. Once you're logged in, it also shows how many treatments each product covers and what the products cost per treatment. That lets you quote a full treatment plan quickly and add the whole protocol to your basket.
  • Product pages with active ingredients, full ingredient lists (useful for clients with allergies), how-to instructions and a short step-by-step guide from consultation to contraindications.

Why this webinar mattered

Ingredient lists and PDF protocols can only explain so much. Salon professionals want to hear from someone who has done the work herself: why she chooses one step over another, what she does when a client's skin doesn't match the textbook, and where she draws the line. Answering 21 submitted questions plus the live ones showed three things clearly:

  • Our protocols are flexible. Four simple steps, nine signature protocols and two open treatments give you a proven starting point, not a strict script.
  • Our products are designed for safety in the salon. They are gentle, work with the equipment you already have, and every formula also works without needles.
  • Clients come back when you have a plan. Preparing the skin properly and building a treatment plan brings better results, more loyal clients and a stronger business.

Małgorzata's closing words: "Do your own thing, and enjoy your treatment results with Beroe Sense."
