Even Tone Therapy

Lightening a spot and controlling pigment are not the same treatment.

A corrective tone treatment that works on discoloration at four separate points in the melanin pathway rather than only at the surface. Cleansing and a renewing toner prepare the skin; controlled exfoliation clears pigment already deposited in the stratum corneum without photosensitising it. The Pigment Control Cocktail then works at cellular level, inhibiting melanin production, interrupting its transfer into keratinocytes, and calming the inflammation that drives it, while a nourishing cream mask closes the treatment. The skin leaves brighter and more even, with existing marks softened and the conditions for the next round of pigment corrected.

Indicated for:
Sun-induced discoloration and lentigines
Melasma
Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (post-acne, post-traumatic)
Hormonal and post-pregnancy pigmentation

How it is applied

Every Beroe Sense formula is equally suited to non-invasive application, each professional can adapt the protocol to the techniques their salon already works with.

1. Micel Pur: Thorough cleansing and makeup removal.

2. Lumina Veil or Glow & Peel Acid Cocktail: Toner to rebalance pH. The Glow & Peel Acid Cocktail combines succinic and mandelic acid with gluconolactone to lift pigment already held in the stratum corneum and open the skin to the actives that follow. Non-phototoxic, no neutralisation required.

3. Pigment Control Cocktail: ALBATIN, azeloglicine, ascorbyl glucoside, niacinamide and lactic acid, carried alongside exosomes and ceramides, delivered across face, neck and décolleté.

4. Post Ritual: NS ceramides, provitamin D3, squalane and marula oil close the protocol, restoring the acid mantle after the acid phase. No rinse-off.

Ingredient synergy

Melanin production is a chain with several distinct steps, and most brightening treatments intervene at only one of them, usually tyrosinase. That is why results plateau and why pigment returns. This protocol interrupts the chain in four places.

Production is inhibited. ALBATIN and potassium azeloyl diglycinate both act on tyrosinase, the rate-limiting enzyme, but from different angles, azeloglicine is the one that reaches post-inflammatory and melasma-type discoloration rather than sun damage alone. Lactic acid suppresses melanin synthesis inside the melanocyte itself, and ascorbyl glucoside interrupts the oxidation steps further down the pathway.

Transfer is blocked. Niacinamide does not touch tyrosinase at all. It stops the finished melanosome being handed from the melanocyte to the keratinocyte, so even the pigment that is produced does not reach the surface. This is the mechanism most brightening ranges leave out, and it is what separates lightening from control.

What is already there is cleared. The Glow & Peel step and the lactic acid in the cocktail remove pigmented corneocytes from the top of the epidermis, which is the visible part, while the deeper work is underway.

And the cause is corrected. Inflammation is upstream of most discoloration, post-acne marks, melasma flares, and the rebound that follows aggressive treatment all begin there. Azeloglicine and ascorbyl glucoside are anti-inflammatory as well as brightening, the ExoBSX™ complex is derived from Centella asiatica, and TriSolve P with Prodew®600 rebuild the barrier and the skin's own natural moisturising factor. A compromised barrier is a low-grade inflammatory state, and inflamed skin makes pigment. Hydration also flattens the optical contrast that makes existing marks read as darker than they are.

The protocol contains no phototoxic ingredients at any step — mandelic acid is the large-molecule, slow-penetrating AHA chosen specifically for reactive and higher-phototype skin, and the cocktail carries no retinoid or hydroquinone. That means it runs year-round, including through summer, and on the phototypes where conventional brightening most often causes the rebound hyperpigmentation it was meant to treat.

Post Ritual closes at pH 4.7–5.3, restoring the acid mantle after the acid phase, while its ceramides and lipids continue the barrier work the Pigment Control Cocktail began.
